Reconstructing Pompeii…with Legos

Rebekah JunkermeierComment

Antiquities make way, it's Lego time! The Nicholson Museum in Sydney, home to the largest collection of ancient artifacts in the Southern Hemisphere, opened a brand new exhibition earlier this month…built entirely of legos. LEGO Pompeii, one of the largest LEGO historical models ever built, was constructed by LEGO Professional Builder Ryan McNaught (aka The Brickman). The city that was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 C.E. has been reconstructed in three different versions: the city at the moment of destruction (see image below), when rediscovered in the 1700s, and what it looks like today.
